What to Expect from 2021 F1 Pre-Season Testing?

The pre-season testing for the 2021 formula one season has been concluded on 14th March and Red bull topped the leaderboard with 1:28:960 and followed by the rookie Yuki Tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) and Carlos Sainz(Ferrari). Mercedes did not top the leaderboard, but it seemed like they were hiding their true colors similar to 2019 pre-season testing.  During pre-season testing the voice of F1 back in the day Murray Walker passed away at age 97. He will be missed by the fans as well as everyone in the paddock due to his amazing and friendly personality.

The 3 days of testing were filled of drama and there were trouble at the Ferrari garage both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz facing technical issues of their Ferrari SF21. It seems that Ferrari have to work a lot to be back on the top of the podium. The new outfit for Sebastian Vettel, the Aston Martin’s also faced some reliability issues.

The new design of Ferrari seems to have improved the performance but let’s not try to make any assumptions. As usual Mercedes seemed to be sandbagging their performance and due to banning of their DAS system from 2021 they might be planning for something new which seems to be another smoking gun to change the sport.

As F1 fans tune in to the season opener in Bahrain on 28th the things will be much different but we all should be happy how the sport has endured and overcame COVID-19.
